Kimbrea Boghosian hoped to sell a few colorful items on a decorative vendor table Tuesday on the 2800 block of Douglas Avenue in northeast Visalia as part of National Night Out.
“It’s all for charity,” said Boghosian, who decided to join this party despite being a Tulare resident. “I’m warming up for a much larger event Aug. 7 at the Tulare Athletic Club.”
Deb Spurlock, who organizes this site and manages the apartments located here, said that the event is getting bigger every year and that vendors were added only this year.
“People love it,” Spurlock said. A blood-donating van had planned to solicit blood donations but the generator wouldn’t work, Spurlock said. A bounce house, though, brightened the scene for children.
National Night Out is a favorite for Adrienne DeSantiago, who participated in the cookout portion along with son Benjamin, 5, and daughter Isabella, 1.
“It’s all about families and we feel comfortable here,” Adrienne said.
